A day to experience traditional Greek culture.
No hurry, no racing but you will get round to visit St Andreas and St George and St Gerasimos who all play a part in this discovery day. Their churches and the castle are exceptional examples of Kefalonian beauty and history. One may climb down into the cave under the monastery of Gerasimos where the patron saint lived with its fine collection of icons and artifacts.!
Kefalonia is very famous for its lovely wines and some of the best in the Ionian islands, and we next visit the Robola winery situated not far from the monastery. A great chance to sample many different wines. And the views from the castle of Saint George can be enjoyed while sampling local cakes in the village.
Duly refreshed, we go to see the fantastic views of Anti-Samos bay with photo shots of Captain Corellis encampment site and then into Sami town with its waterside shops and tavernas where there is plenty of time to eat , shop and swim.
Driving through the foothills of Mount Ainos, the highest mountain range of Kefalonia, we head to Poros for a coffee break before proceeding back to the resorts.
Your guide will help you find the hidden treasures of the South with no effort on your part!!
